Wow, it's been forever

So, I've been following everyone else's blogs...and realized that I haven't written one of my own since August!! So much has happened since that time!! Jacob is growing up soo fast, he is 5 months old now! He learns so much everyday, it is so amazing to watch him grow up and learn. It's funny because I never thought I'd be one of those annoying moms that can only talk about their children, but Jacob has become my whole life and I want to share everything about him!!! So, I'm going to share a little bit about him, right now.

Jacob is a big boy..and I do mean big. When he was born, he was 7 lbs 7.8 ozs..AND he was 3 weeks early. Now, he's 5 months...and close to 19 lbs!! He LOVES to eat...he gets that from his daddy!!! When Jacob is eating his bottle-if you try to take it out to burp him....he will SCREAM bloody murder, it is hilarious!! Jacob is eating solid foods 2 times a day...he's made his way all the way through the fruits and now we're working on the vegetables. So far, we haven't found anything that he doesn't like!!

Jacob has learned to do a few things...they might seem simple to some, but to me, they are a huge deal!! He can roll over from his belly to his back, which I might add, he learned at 6 weeks. He is learning how to use his hands and can grasp small toys, necklaces, earings, my hair, etc. He is sleeping in his own room, in his crib, and can most of the time make it all the way through the night (yay!). He likes to play with people...he can stare in your face and laugh and talk to you forever...that's definately his favorite type of play time! He is learning how to sit up..he can support himself on his knees for about 10 seconds...and sometimes if he's laying at an incline he can pull himself almost all the way up.

I really could go on and on about all of the things he does...but I'm sure I've already gone on for too long! :o)

There is more to my life than Jacob....like my husband. We've been married for 1.5 years now, and although there are days where we both could kill each other, we are still very much in love. He makes me happy every day. I still work for Navy Federal...and I like it, although my heart is at home, with a certain little boy.

There is much more that I could say, but it's getting late...and although Jacob can sleep through the night...his idea of morning is 6 a.m, even on the weekends!! So, I better join the rest of the family and hit the sack!

14 months...and our baby boy

So, we've now been married for 14 months. It has been the most wonderful and hectic 14 months of our lives. On July 20th, we had our first child, Jacob David Nicholas. He arrived at 9:43 pm and was 7 lbs 7.8 oz and 19.5 inches long. He is so remarkable, we are amazed daily.

He is now almost 3 weeks old and is changing daily. We are still getting used to all of the things that come along with being a parent. One of the hardest things to deal with is the lack of sleep!!! I know this phase will pass pretty quick, but right now it is pretty exhausting!!!!

We are so blessed and are in love with our baby boy!! We can't wait to watch him learn and grow.

9 months in...and a baby on the way

So, a lot has changed since my last update. Things are still going great in the marriage. I cannot believe it's already been 9 months! This first year is FLYING by!!! We did receive some exciting news on our 6 month anniversary.....we're expecting! We found out on the 11th that we are having a baby boy!!! We are so very excited for this!! We're doing all we can to get ready for him. We have put up a privacy fence for the dogs and are going to install a doggie door. Our hope is that this will deter Payton from using the bathroom in the house anymore!! That way, we can recarpet before the baby is old enough to crawl!!!! Ahh!! What a crazy first year of marriage this has been! Other than that, not much else is going on!! (although that is big news!)

3 months in and going strong

So we're almost at our 3 month anniversary...and things are going great! Who knew being with one person all the time could be so great! haha!! I love the little things we do like watching T.V. shows together on the couch. We just hosted our first event here for Justin's birthday. We had a good turn out..although it rained a lot. It is a lot of work putting an event like that together...I think we'll stray from another one for a while!!

Our lifes are pretty dull right now...although Justin is going to Vegas and New Orleans in a few weeks...and I'll be taking a road trip to Cali to say goodbye to my best friend!! Other than that, things are still the same!!

Thank you cards...

Oh my goodness! Whoever knew that thank you cards could be so much work!! I've done about 15 and I feel as if my hand is going to FALL OFF!!! Oh well, I'll get through it...just do a little each day. I'm really excited to send them out! We got these SUPER cute address labels that I can't wait to put on them!
Tonight I got to break out some of my new items. I made Justin some brownies so I got to use my new bake ware and my awesome new mixing bowls! Who knew I would be so stoked to use such simple things! haha!!
Well not much else is new! Justin is working like crazy! Last weekend was the holiday weekend and this weekend is the Blue Angels...so he has been wore out working for 2 straight weeks!!! Other than that nothing else is new!!!!!

Week 3 of marriage

So we have officially been married 3 weeks and I absolutely love it! It's funny how you enjoy the little things together like grocery shopping and making dinner. It's all a new experience for us. We're still getting our house in order, weeding through all of our gift. Justin finds places for stuff every couple days. I can't wait till we both have a weekend at home together to unpack and arrange everything. Once the house is ALL the way put together, I will post pictures, right now, it's still a disaster!!!!!!

We're Married!!!

So two weeks ago today was our wedding! It turned out absolutely amazing. All the hard work and planning was definately worth it. It is quite amazing to see how your vision all comes together. Here's some pictures to get and idea of what it looked like!

Justin and I are adjusting very well to married life. We've been together for so long now, it didn't really feel like much of a transition. We love putting all of our new gifts away and decorating the house to make it feel like our home.

Not too much else is going on right now...just loving being married.

49 days and counting

Today we moved my stuff out of my apartment!!! All of my stuff is now in Justin's house, it looks nice to see some of my stuff here, makes it feel more like "our" house vs. "his" house!! So, we're just working on getting the stuff unpacked and making room for both of our things. That will definately be an adjustment, having to share my space! haha!
Well wedding plans are almost done, I'll be soooo relieved when all of this over!! What a ton of work it is to plan a wedding, there are sooo many details that you don't even think of!

Fixing up the house!!!!!!!!!!!

So...we're fixing up the house!! I'm so excited to put a girls touch in the house!!! I finally got a new closet built, it's HUGE, we're talking 2 12 ft walls of racks...all for my clothes!! We're also getting the living room and kitchen painted...it's going to look soooo nice! I can't wait...we're making the house into our home!!! I'll be moving all of my stuff in soon, which will be fun (haha)!! Only about 86 more days till the big day...with still SOOOOO much stuff left to do!! *sigh* I can't wait to make this blog something else other than about our wedding!! haha!!

103...and we have a cake and invitations!!!

So on Saturday me and my mom went and ordered the wedding cake and groom's cake as well as the invitations. I never knew there were sooooo many options with both! I was completely overwhelmed!!! I am very excited about the cakes, they are going to be so yummy. We got to take a sample cake home.....mmmmm it was delicious!!!!!
The invitations for the wedding will be going out in April...so you can expect to see them, soon!!!! I'm not giving any details of what they look like, so keep an eye out!!!
This week me and Justin are starting a book that will help us prepare for our marriage. It's full of projects that we do as individuals and as a couple to help strengthen our relationship and grow together. I am really excited about it!! (hopefully we find out good things!!!)

109 and counting down...it's getting close!!!

So we're less than 4 months out from the wedding date now. I am DEFINATELY starting to freak out. Things are falling into place, but it is definately a lot more work than I ever imagined. We figured out the final arrangements for the flowers, I just have a few other things I need to address with that, but that's a breather. We're going this saturday to talk to the Cake Shop and order the invitations!!! I can't believe it's almost here!!! Time has flown by. There are so many little things that I have to do still...but it will all be worth it in the end.

Can't wait to see all my friends and family soon!!

A little more than 6 months to go...

So we're fastly approaching the 6 month mark untill the wedding. It appears that we have almost everything ready. The only things we have left are ordering invitations and finalizing the flowers and decorations! I cannot believe how the past year has FLOWN by!!

Right now we're getting ready for christmas, so the wedding plans are on the back burner for a month!! Although, last weekend I took the last round of the girls to get measured for the bridesmaids dresses. They're so pretty...you can check them out at www.barijay.com, the style # is 809. Engagement Photos

We took our engagement photos with our awesome photographer, Mrs. Tricia Vines! We took them out at Pensacola Beach, and they turned out amazing. We're really pleased.

We're getting closer everyday to the wedding...I can't believe how this past year has flown by. We have all of the big items for the wedding taken care of. The last few things we have to worry about are the invitations, the boys' tuxes, and the decorations for the reception!! We still have about 7 months to go!!!!

334...and we have a reception site!!

Last Monday, Justin, my mom and I went and looked at the Pensacola Garden Center as the reception site for the wedding. We really liked the place, it has a great potential and TONS of room!! So, we booked it!! The volunteer said that there was another couple coming that Wednesday that was looking at the same date and we didn't want to lose the site so we decided to book it. Now, it's down to the rest of the planning such as decorating, flowers, etc. Oh and we also talked with the caterer at Apple Market and we're probably going to go with them. Things are moving right along with the wedding...it'll be here before we know it!!

Back from Vacation

Well we're back from our trip to Indiana. Justin got to meet my ENTIRE family for the first time. I think that it went very well, everyone though that he was great. He's definately welcome in the family.
Our trip was very nice, yet very exhausting. We drove 13 1/2 hours both ways in my Honda Accord with 5 people. It was VERY cramped.
All and all things were nice, although it's nice to be home.
No new wedding plans...we might go talk to a caterer this week and hopefully we'll get to set up an appointment to check out a place for the reception.

361 and counting down...

For all of you who don't know..Justin and I are getting married on June 6th, 2009. It's only 361 days away!! (I know that sounds like a long time, but it's not) Wedding planning is definately stressful. We're seeking out reception locations right now, hopefully we'll find one that we like that can suit our needs and will accomodate our guests. I'm so excited, and SOOO ready to get married.
